S10 Poor Start Reduced Power
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Chevrolet S10 with a diesel engine is experiencing poor starting, increased fuel consumption, reduced power, uneven idling, and occasional stalling. The suspected cause is a dirty or defective injection valve or nozzle. A similar issue was resolved by having the nozzles professionally cleaned, though in this case, a defective injection nozzle was confirmed, and a replacement was quoted at 515€.

Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven't tried any fuel additives yet. Were your symptoms as bad as mine, with the engine stalling at idle? How did you fix yours?

Yeah, mine stalled too, especially when cold. I tried additives, but they didn't really help. Eventually, I had to get the nozzles professionally cleaned. Cost me a pretty penny. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop before it messes up your engine completely.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll take it to the shop to get it checked out. Turns out the injection nozzle was defective and they quoted me 515€ for the replacement.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms with my old Opel, and the injection nozzles were clogged. It caused misfires and rough running. Check the emissions too, probably running rich. Have you tried any fuel additives?
