S2000 Multifunction Steering Wheel Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Honda S2000 is experiencing a complete failure of its multifunction steering wheel controls, with an error stored in the system memory. Possible causes include a faulty sensor or connectivity issues with the control module. It is suggested to check the cable connection within the steering wheel, but due to the complexity, a professional workshop visit is recommended for diagnosis and repair.

Cable connection, huh? Is that a bear to get to? I'm guessing it's not just a simple plug I can jiggle, right?

Correct. It's more involved than a simple plug. It requires accessing the steering wheel internals. Given the error being stored and the complete loss of function, I would suggest a workshop visit. They'll diagnose whether it's a sensor issue or a deeper electrical fault within the steering wheel assembly. In the end, I had to pay 95€ for the repair.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll take it to the shop then. Sounds like it's beyond my shade-tree skills. I appreciate the advice!

I also own an S2000 and had something similar happen. The entire steering wheel controls just went kaput. Did you check the cable connection in the steering wheel itself? It could be a faulty sensor or a connectivity problem with a control module.
