S40 AC not cooling

My 2001 Volvo S40 (gasoline engine) AC isn't cooling at all; the system doesn't seem to switch on. The car has 205209 km. I've checked the temperature control and blower motor, but they seem fine. Any ideas?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my S40. Turned out to be a faulty pressure switch causing the whole system to shut down. Have you checked that?

Thanks for the suggestion! Where is the pressure switch located, and is it something I can test myself without special equipment?

Honestly, I'm no expert. I just remember the mechanic mentioning it. It's best to get it checked at a workshop; these AC systems can be tricky, and refrigerant leaks are no fun. Could be individual valves in the AC system.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I'll take it to a workshop and mention the pressure switch and valves as a possible cause. I expect the eventual repair cost to be around 1000€
