S60 Blower Motor Failure

My 2020 Volvo S60 with the gasoline engine's fresh air blower isn't working at all. Zero air, no matter what setting. The error memory says 'blower motor defective'. I've checked climate control settings and the wiring near the blower motor, but no luck. Is it really just the blower motor? Seems crazy with only 223813 km.

I had a similar problem with my old BMW, though it was a different component. Is the blower motor getting any power at all? Did you check the relevant fuses?

I didn't dig too deep with a multimeter, just a quick visual check of the wiring. Which BMW was it, and what was the 'different component' in your case? And what were the symptoms?

It was an E46 3 Series. Turned out to be a faulty final stage resistor. Symptoms were similar – blower motor completely dead. Given your error code and the symptoms, it does sound like the blower motor. It may be best to go to the workshop.

It's useful to know about your experience. OK, I took it to the workshop, and you were right, it was the blower motor, a new one costing 365€. It's sorted now
