S60 engine stalls at idle

My 2009 Volvo S60 with a gasoline engine has developed a problem. The check engine light is on, and the engine stalls at idle. Mileage is at 69171 km. I suspect a fuel tank ventilation system leak. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I had a similar issue with my S60, although I don't remember the exact year. Check engine light, stalling... sounds familiar. Did you happen to notice if it happens more often after filling up the gas tank? Could be the fuel tank ventilation. Does the system use a pressure sensor?

Yes, it seems to happen more frequently after refueling. The system probably uses a pressure sensor for leak detection. Do you think it's the activated charcoal filter?

That's exactly what it was in my case! The defective activated charcoal filter was the culprit. The air flow got messed up. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked by a workshop. They'll be able to pinpoint the issue precisely. Don't want to mess with the fuel system.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on - defective activated charcoal filter. Repair cost 275€. Appreciate the help!
