S660 Reduced Engine Power
Summary of the thread
The 2016 Honda S660 experienced reduced engine power and a check engine light, potentially due to a defective throttle valve, accelerator pedal module, or faulty electronics. Despite no limp mode or unusual noises, the high mileage suggested possible throttle body issues. After diagnosis at a workshop, a defective throttle valve was confirmed and replaced, resolving the engine power and check engine light problems.

Limp mode isn't active, and I haven't detected unusual airflow noises or idle speed issues. However, the reduced engine power is noticeable, and the check engine light remains on. Considering the high mileage, could a simple throttle body cleaning suffice, or is replacement more likely? What was the issue with your Astra?

On the Astra, it ended up being a faulty throttle position sensor within the throttle body. Given your symptoms and mileage, it's probably best to get it checked by a workshop. They can diagnose it properly. It could indeed be the throttle body itself or a related sensor. It's worth the expense, instead of trying to fix it yourself.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I took it to a local workshop, and after diagnosis, they confirmed a defective throttle valve. They replaced it, and the total cost came to 265€. The reduced engine power and check engine light issues are now resolved.

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my old Opel Astra. Did you notice any changes in the engine's idle speed or unusual airflow noises? Might be worth checking the throttle body. Is the car going into limp mode?
