S80 Air Suspension Failure

My 2012 Volvo S80 with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. The air suspension seems completely shot. The car won't lift anymore, and it's leaning to one side. I'm getting error messages, a warning light, and my low beams are pointing all sorts of crazy directions. I scanned for errors and it says something about the air suspension compressor. Has anyone else dealt with this?

I had a similar problem with my S80 – though I don't remember the exact error codes. Air suspension issues are a pain. Have you checked the cable and plug connections to the compressor? A defective connection can cause all sorts of weirdness in the system. Also, when was the last time you checked your air struts for leaks? Those can cause similar problems.

I did a quick visual on the compressor cable, but nothing jumped out. Where exactly should I be looking for the connection issue? And how can I check for leaks in the air struts without taking everything apart? I am not really an expert...

Regarding the compressor connections, pay close attention to any signs of corrosion or damage on the plug itself, and where the wires enter the plug. Sometimes, a wire can be partially broken internally, even if it looks okay from the outside. As for the air struts, a visual inspection might not be enough to spot a minor leak. Honestly, for this, I would go to a specialized shop - it will save you time and money.

I wiggled the connector, but no luck. I took your advice and went straight to my local shop. They found the issue - it really was the cable plug connection! I paid about 95€ for a replacement and everything is back to normal. Thanks so much!
