No recent electrical work that I am aware of and battery seems normal. So you're saying CEM recalibration might be necessary?

Recalibration is possible, but given the symptoms and the potential for implausible control unit programming, a full software refresh would be a more comprehensive approach. I'd strongly recommend taking it to a qualified workshop that can perform a diagnostic check and CEM software reload. Intermittent CAN bus communication faults can also manifest in similar ways, and require specialised tools to diagnose.

Thanks, I appreciate the insight. I'll take it in for a software refresh and diagnostic check as suggested. Repair cost is estimated to be around 240€. Hopefully this fixes the problem.

I had a similar issue with my S80. "General electrical malfunction" is vague, but a non-functional navigation system points towards the central electronic module (CEM). Has there been any recent work on the car's electrical system? Any battery issues recently?
