Safrane GPS Antenna Fault
Summary of the thread
A 1999 Renault Safrane is experiencing a 'No GPS Signal' issue, with a stored fault related to the GPS antenna. Despite checking the connections, the problem persists, leading to the suspicion that the GPS antenna might be defective. A similar issue was resolved by replacing a corroded antenna base, suggesting that corrosion could be the cause. Replacing the antenna is recommended as a solution, with a quote obtained for the repair.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check the antenna base more closely for corrosion. Was it completely dead, or just intermittent? And did replacing the antenna fix the problem completely?

Mine was completely dead, no signal at all. Replacing the antenna fixed it for me. Given the age of the car and the error code, it's probably the antenna. Might be worth getting a quote from a workshop before you start replacing parts though.

Appreciate the advice. I checked the base, and it was indeed corroded. I got a quote for around 200€ to replace the antenna. I'll book it in. Thanks again!

Yeah, I had something similar with my Opel Astra. The navigation was useless. Is the antenna base corroded at all? That was the culprit in my case.
