Sail diesel glow plug issue

My 2010 Chevrolet Sail diesel is throwing me for a loop. Mileage is at 173733 km. The preheating lamp won't switch off, and the error memory has a fault stored. Suspect it's the glow plugs. Anyone seen this before?

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Chevrolet Sail diesel has a persistent preheating lamp issue, with an error memory fault suggesting a glow plug problem. The owner suspects defective glow plugs as the cause. After further investigation, it was confirmed that a defective glow plug was indeed the issue, and it was repaired.

I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot, although the symptoms weren't exactly the same. The check engine light kept coming on, and sometimes it felt like the engine was struggling, especially on cold starts. Could be a faulty sensor somewhere, or maybe even a fuel issue? I'm no expert, just throwing out ideas based on my own experience.

Interesting. Was it also related to the glow plugs in your Peugeot? Any rough idle or engine combustion issues?

I never actually confirmed it was the glow plugs directly, but the symptoms were definitely there. It was causing rough starts and generally felt like a misfire. I'd suggest getting it checked out by a workshop. It's probably best to get a proper diagnosis.

Appreciate the input. Ended up being a defective glow plug, as suspected. Cost 440€ to repair.
