SantaFe Auxiliary Heater Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Hyundai SantaFe owner reported an issue with the auxiliary heater not working and an error logged in the system. Initially suspecting a fuse problem, it was suggested to check the glow plugs, as a similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by replacing a defective glow plug. Upon professional diagnosis, a defective glow plug was indeed identified as the cause, and the issue was resolved by replacing it.

Glow plugs, huh? Is that a common issue? I thought those were mainly for starting the engine in cold weather. How would that affect the auxiliary heater?

Yeah, on my BMW, the aux heater used glow plugs to get things going. Apparently, if one's defective, it can stop the whole system. Could be worth checking before you dive too deep. If you're not comfortable testing them yourself, a workshop could diagnose it quickly.

Thanks for the tip! Took it to the shop, and you were spot on – defective glow plug. Cost me 440€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

Hey, I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series, though not exactly the same. My parking heater wouldn't kick in either. Did you check the glow plugs? That was the culprit in my case.
