Saxo Gearbox Slipping

Hi, I'm having trouble with my 2003 Citroen Saxo, gasoline engine, 243624 km. The paddle shifters aren't working, the gearbox slips and shifts uncleanly, and there are nasty grinding noises when it changes gear. Also, the paddle shifters feel really slow to respond, and sometimes the gearbox goes into emergency mode. I plugged it into a reader, and it's showing an error stored in the error memory. I think it might be the transmission control unit. Has anyone had similar issues?

Sounds rough. I had similar issues with my old Opel Corsa; the automatic gearbox was acting up, and it turned out to be an electronic issue with the car computer. Is it showing any specific error codes?

Thanks for the reply! I am getting an error code but I'm not sure exactly what it means. You mentioned it was an electronic issue, do you remember anything specific about what was wrong with your Corsa?

It was a while ago, but from memory, it was a faulty control unit that messed everything up. Best bet is to get it checked out by a workshop; they'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the advice. I got it checked and you were right. It's the transmission control unit. Costing around 1000€ to fix!
