Saxo poor start and fuel consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2001 Citroen Saxo owner experienced poor starting, increased fuel consumption, reduced engine power, uneven idling, and occasional stalling. These issues were suspected to be related to a defective injection nozzle. After consulting with others who had similar problems, it was suggested to have the vehicle professionally checked. The workshop confirmed the defective injection nozzle, replaced it, and resolved the issues, resulting in the car running smoothly again.

It is indeed running rough, especially when cold. I haven't used any fuel additives. What did you do to fix the issue with your Saxo?

I tried cleaning the injection valves myself at first, but it didn't solve the problem. Eventually, I took it to a workshop. They confirmed a defective injection nozzle. Given your symptoms, a professional check might be worthwhile.

Thank you for the information. I took your advice and went to a workshop. They confirmed the defective injection nozzle and replaced it. The repair cost me 515€. The car is running smoothly again.

Sounds familiar. I had similar problems with my Saxo. Is it running rough, especially when cold? Could be dirty injection valves. Have you tried any fuel additives?
