SC Overheating and Bypass Valve Error

That's precisely what I was suspecting. You mention engine stalling; did you experience any noticeable stalling symptoms alongside the overheating? If so, was this stalling correlated in any way with the stored error codes related to the bypass valve?

Indeed, there was intermittent stalling, and it did coincide with the error codes. Given the error code and overheating, a thorough diagnostic check by a workshop would be prudent. I suspect it might point to a more complex, underlying issue than a simple valve replacement.

I appreciate the insight. Turns out it was indeed a consequential error. The local specialist found a faulty sensor causing all sorts of havoc, including the bypass valve error. Replacing the sensor resolved everything, costing me nothing under warranty!

I recall encountering a similar predicament on my SC. Have you meticulously inspected the air intake system for any blockages or leaks? Engine stalling can often trigger secondary errors related to the bypass valve. Is there a way to pinpoint another root cause of the problem?
