Scenic Anti-Theft Alarm Issue

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2018 Renault Scenic diesel. The anti-theft alarm system seems to be malfunctioning. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, but the alarm itself isn't working at all. I've checked the fuses and the battery seems fine. Could it be related to some setting? Any ideas?

Hey! I had a similar thing happen with my old Peugeot, though a much older model than yours. The security alarm would just randomly go off, or sometimes not work at all. Did you ever have any issues with the car battery?

Interesting... no, the battery seems okay, I tested it and it's holding a charge fine. But what exactly was the problem with your Peugeot? Was it a battery issue in the end?

Well, it wasn't a dead battery, but it turned out the voltage was dropping sometimes, enough to mess with the alarm system. I never figured it out myself, just took it to a workshop and they sorted it. Best bet is to do the same I guess...

Thanks for the advice! I took it to my local mechanic and it turned out the alarm system was coded to activate the optical locking (indicators), which was causing the error and deactivating the alarm. A quick recoding for 45€ fixed it! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!
