Scenic engine oil temperature warning

I'm having trouble with my 2022 Renault Scenic gasoline engine. The engine oil temperature warning light is on, and diagnostics show an error. The oil pressure lamp also comes on sometimes. I think it might be the engine oil temperature sensor. I looked at it, but didn't see anything wrong. Any ideas?

I had similar issues with my Scenic. Did you check the cable and plug connection to the temperature sensor? That was my problem.

Thanks, I visually checked the sensor, but not the cable and plug specifically. Was the bad connection obvious, or did you need special tools to find it?

It wasn't obvious at first. The cable looked fine, but a closer look revealed a slightly corroded pin inside the connector. Given your symptoms, a workshop visit for diagnosis is a good idea. The repair cost me around 95€.

Thanks, I'll check the wiring more closely, but I'll probably take it to a professional as you suggest. Thanks for sharing your experience and the repair cost.
