Thanks for the tip! When you say 'injection components' are you talking about the fuel injectors themselves? And how exactly would I check the cable or plug connection? I'm not mechanically inclined.

Yes, I meant the fuel injectors and other parts of the injection system. Visually inspect the cables and plugs going to them. Look for any signs of damage, corrosion, or if they're loose. If you aren't confident doing this yourself, I recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked out properly. It could be something simple, but best to be safe.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I checked what I could but didn't find anything obvious, so I took it to a workshop. Turns out it was a defective cable connection, and they fixed it for 95€. Runs much better now!

I have a Scenic too and once had similar problems. The higher fuel consumption and reduced power sound familiar. Have you checked the cable or plug connections to the injection components? A defective connection there can cause issues.
