Scenic intake air temperature sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Renault Scenic diesel is experiencing a check engine light, reduced power, and rough engine performance, with a diagnostic code indicating an issue with the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. The problem is suspected to be a faulty IAT sensor, which can cause these symptoms. A similar case suggests that replacing the sensor at a workshop is a recommended solution.

Yes, the error code points towards a generally implausible signal from the intake air temperature sensor. But what do you mean by "vaguely familiar"? Did you have the same symptoms, like the check engine light and reduced power?

Indeed. The symptoms you describe mirror my own experience some time ago. It certainly sounds like your intake air temperature sensor is defective. Given the error code and the symptoms, I'd strongly recommend taking it to a reputable workshop for a proper diagnosis and replacement. I remember the bill being around 155€, sensor included.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I appreciate you sharing your experience. It confirms my suspicion. I'll book it in with a workshop to get the IAT sensor replaced.

Interesting issue. I drive a Scenic too. Reduced engine power and a rough idle, you say? Sounds vaguely familiar. Did you happen to notice if the error code mentioned anything specific about high or low readings from the air sensor?
