Scenic O2 sensor issue

I'm having trouble with my 2013 Renault Scenic, gasoline engine. The check engine light keeps coming on, and I've noticed a significant increase in fuel consumption lately. I hooked it up to an OBD scanner, and it's showing an error related to the oxygen sensor. I've checked the wiring and plug connection as best as I can, but everything seems to be in order. Mileage is at 76902 km. Anyone else experienced something similar with their Scenic?

I had a similar issue with my Scenic, though I can't remember the exact error code. It was definitely something to do with the exhaust system and the O2 sensor. Is it running rough at all?

No, the engine itself seems to be running smoothly, no rough idling or anything like that. Just the increased fuel consumption and the pesky check engine light. Was it expensive to fix? Could it actually just be a defective connection?

Mine drove fine too, just like yours. I'm no mechanic, but given the symptoms and error code, it does sound like it could be a faulty O2 sensor or a connection issue, like you said. I would recommend taking it to a workshop to be sure. It might be a quick fix!

I took it to my local workshop, and it turned out to be a corroded connection to the O2 sensor, just as suspected. They cleaned it up and replaced the plug, and the error is gone. Total cost was 95€, which I'm happy with. Fuel efficiency seems to be back to normal.
