Scenic Overheating Electric Fan Issue

Good shout! I checked the coolant level; it's fine. I'll check the fan clutch later. But if it's the cable or the plug, I'm not sure where to look first. Any pointers on where they usually fail?

Given the age and mileage, a degraded connection is plausible. But tracing electrical faults can be a pain, even for experienced mechanics. Honestly, for 95€, a workshop will quickly diagnose it. I'd probably book it in.

Cheers! I took your advice and booked it into the local garage. Turns out it was a corroded plug connection to the fan motor, just like I thought! They charged me 95€, which is a fair price to have it sorted. Thanks for the tip!

Overheating on a Scenic can be tricky. Did you check the fan clutch? Is the fan spinning freely when the engine is off? Also, have you ruled out any issues with the coolant level or thermostat?
