Scenic tailgate hall sensor fault

I have a 2011 Renault Scenic with a gasoline engine. I'm getting a tailgate hall sensor fault. The error is stored, and the tailgate doesn't open completely. I suspect it's a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone experienced something similar?

I had a similar issue with my Scenic! The automatic tailgate started acting up. Was yours completely unresponsive, or just not opening fully? It could also be a sensor calibration issue.

Mine is not opening fully. Did you check the tailgate motor or the sensor wiring? How did you resolve your issue? Did you need a sensor calibration?

Ah, just not opening fully, like mine then. I tinkered with it myself, but I wasn't confident enough to start stripping wires and recalibrating things. I ended up taking it to a workshop. Best to get it checked professionally before you make it worse.

Thanks for the advice. I suspected it might need professional attention. I had it checked and it was indeed a defective connection as suspected, and they quoted 95€ for the repair.
