Scudo central locking fault

Afternoon, I'm having a mare with the central locking on my 2012 Fiat Scudo diesel. The doors won't lock or unlock using the keyless entry or the key in the lock. I've plugged it into a diagnostic tool and it's throwing up an error code related to the locking system. I've checked the fuses and they seem fine. Anyone experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

The central locking system on a 2012 Fiat Scudo is malfunctioning, with neither keyless entry nor manual key use working. The diagnostic tool shows error code B1000, indicating a general fault in the central locking module. Possible causes include a faulty connector or damaged wiring loom. A suggested solution is to have a professional mechanic inspect and repair the wiring, as similar issues have been resolved by addressing defective cables and plug connections.

I had almost exactly the same problem on my Scudo! Keyless entry packed in completely, and I couldn't even use the key to manually unlock it. What's the error code you're getting? It sounds like a dodgy connection somewhere in the door locking system. Have you checked the wiring loom where it enters the door from the body? They're notorious for getting damaged and causing all sorts of electrical gremlins!

Thanks for the quick reply! The error code is B1000, which seems to point to a general fault in the central locking module. I haven't checked the wiring loom specifically, but I did give the plugs on the module itself a wiggle. Was your error code the same, and did you manage to fix it yourself?

B1000 sounds familiar. No, I didn't fix the problem myself. To be honest, after fiddling about with it for a while, I just took it to a workshop. They reckoned it was a faulty connector or a damaged wire within the loom itself, like I suggested earlier. They sorted it pretty quickly, but it was a pain in the backside until then. Cost me 95€ to have it done.

Okay, that's useful to know. Sounds like I'm fighting a losing battle trying to sort it myself then! I'll book it in with a local mechanic. Thanks for the heads-up, much appreciated. They found a defective cable and plug connection and repaired it for 95€ - working again now!
