Scudo Immobilizer Error

My 2001 Fiat Scudo gasoline engine won't start. Sometimes it sputters and dies. The error memory shows an immobilizer error. Could the key signal be faulty or is it a key programming issue?

I had a similar issue with my Scudo. Same symptoms – engine refusing to start, or starting briefly before cutting out. Does it happen more when it's cold? Have you tried the spare key, to rule out a faulty transponder in the main key?

Yes, immobilizer error stored in my case too. Since both keys are causing the same problem, and you're getting that error code, it points to a deeper immobilizer issue, possibly with the ECU itself. I'd suggest a workshop with proper diagnostic equipment. They can check the key signal, and potentially re-program the keys if necessary. It could save time and headache.

Following the advice, I took the vehicle to a workshop. Key programming was indeed incorrect. A re-programming of the transponder and a final cost of 45€ and it runs perfectly again! Thanks for the help.
