Seat Alhambra ABS Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Seat Alhambra diesel experienced issues with the ABS system, including a lit ABS lamp, failing traction control, and a complete ABS system failure. Diagnostics indicated a speed signal fault, leading to suspicion of a faulty ABS control unit. After considering potential causes like wheel and transmission speed sensors, the problem was confirmed to be the control unit, which was replaced and resolved the issue at a cost of 1000€.

Wheel speed sensors seemed okay when I did a diagnostic check, but the transmission speed sensor is a good shout, I hadn't considered that. How would I go about testing that? Cheers!

Yeah, testing the transmission speed sensor can be a bit involved, depending on your tools and skills. You might need a multimeter and the wiring diagram for your Alhambra. Honestly, if you're not completely confident, it might be best to get a workshop to take a look. Could save you money eventually.

Sorted it. The control unit was indeed faulty. A new one was installed, coded, and all errors cleared. Cost 1000€. Ouch.

Speed signal fault sounds tricky. Have you checked the basics like wheel speed sensors? What about the transmission speed sensor? It could also be a wiring issue somewhere. Does the odometer still work?
