Seat Alhambra Airbag Warning Light Issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2014 Seat Alhambra diesel. The airbag warning lamp in the speedometer keeps illuminating. The car has 135269 km on the clock. I've read online that it could be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else faced a similar problem? Any advice on what to check before I take it in for airbag repair?

I had a similar airbag warning light issue in my Alhambra. It can be a real pain. A common cause is a faulty crash sensor or a loose connection in the airbag sensor wiring. It's like a Christmas tree when one bulb fails and affects the whole string. Have you inspected the connections under the seats? Sometimes they get kicked or moved.

Thanks for your quick response. You mentioned checking the connections under the seats. Are these easy to access, or do I need special tools? I'm a bit worried about interfering with the airbag system myself, especially with all the talk about airbag recalls and vehicle safety.

Yes, it's the same issue I encountered. While you can inspect the connections yourself, I'd strongly advise taking it to a qualified workshop. Airbag systems are sensitive, and any accidental triggering could cause serious injury. It's always better to be safe than sorry when dealing with vehicle safety systems. They will pinpoint if it's just a loose connection of the crash sensor.

I wanted to share that I followed your advice and visited the workshop. They inspected the plug connections as you suggested, and that was indeed the issue! They resolved it for 95€. Thanks so much for your assistance!
