Seat Alhambra diesel engine malfunction indicator light

I have a 2016 Seat Alhambra with a diesel engine. The malfunction indicator light is on, and the error memory points to the water sensor. The engine is running rough. It could be a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Seat Alhambra. Do you have any sensor testing to check the component? Have you checked the electrical connections for corrosion or damage, which could cause an electrical fault?

When you had the issue, did the error code point to the water sensor, or was it generic? Did you try cleaning the contacts before replacing the sensor?

The error code indicated a water sensor fault. I didn't try cleaning the contacts. Given the potential issues with a bad sensor, I went to a workshop. I suggest you do the same.

The garage visit confirmed a faulty water sensor. After replacing it, the malfunction indicator is off and the engine runs smoothly. The cost was 95€.
