Seat Alhambra Diesel Stalling at Idle

Alright, I've got a bit of a head-scratcher here. My 2001 Seat Alhambra diesel is throwing a check engine light and stalling at idle. Diagnostic says it's something about incorrect fuel composition. I'm suspecting something related to wrong fuel. Any ideas? I'm not seeing any obvious signs of engine knock.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Alhambra. Check engine light, rough idling, the whole shebang. Did you happen to recently fill up at a different station than usual? Or maybe used any fuel additives? Just thinking about possible fuel contamination.

I did use a fuel additive recently, trying to improve the fuel economy. Could that be the problem? How did you resolve it on your car?

That fuel additive could definitely be the culprit. It's like giving your car a food it's not used to. It messed with the fuel mixture and triggered the sensor. In my case, a faulty plug connection to a sensor was the reason for the error. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to check the cable or plug connection. They can pinpoint the exact sensor that's causing the issue.

Big thanks for the advice. I took it to a local workshop, and you were spot on. They found a dodgy connection on some sensor related to the fuel system. 95€ later, and it's running smoothly again.
