Seat Alhambra Multifunction Steering Wheel Issue

I'm writing to report a problem with my 2007 Seat Alhambra, diesel engine, with 86712 km. The operation of the multifunction steering wheel is no longer possible. An error is stored in the error memory. After initial research, a defective cable connection in the steering wheel is the likely cause. Has anyone experienced something similar or can offer advice?

I have a similar Seat Alhambra. Multifunction steering wheel issues sound familiar. Does the malfunction indicator light come on? It was an electrical fault in my case, and it affected the steering controls. Have you had the vehicle diagnostics checked?

The malfunction indicator isn't on, but there is an error stored. Vehicle diagnostics points to the steering wheel control module. Was your error similar? Could you give me more details about the electrical fault?

Yes, the error was similar. The vehicle diagnostics pointed to a fault within the steering wheel itself. I would recommend visiting a workshop to get it checked out properly. It is probably a defective cable, and the cost is manageable.

Just wanted to share that I took your advice and visited the workshop. It turned out to be a defective cable connection in the steering wheel. They replaced it and cleared the error memory, and now everything is working properly again. The whole thing set me back 95€. Thanks again for the assistance!
