Interesting. When your Alhambra overheated, did it also take a long time for the engine to warm up initially? And did you replace the temperature sensor yourself, or did a shop do it?

Yes, exactly the same symptoms. Long warm-up time and then overheating. I didn't touch it myself; I'm not that skilled. I would suggest you visit a workshop to check the cooling system. Better safe than sorry with engine overheating.

Took it to the shop. The map thermostat was the problem. New one installed, cooling system flushed, all good now. The bill was 350€ Thanks for your help.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Alhambra. It sounds like your temperature sensor might be gone or the thermostat is stuck. Has the cooling fan been running constantly? Check that first. Could also be the water pump, but the thermostat is more likely, I think.
