Seat Alhambra power window issue

My 2007 Seat Alhambra with a diesel engine has a problem with the power windows. After replacing the vehicle battery, the power windows no longer operate, and an error is stored. Mileage is 89809 km. Suspect window regulator initialization failed.

A common issue after a battery replacement is indeed the loss of window regulator settings. The system forgets the upper and lower limits, hence the error. Have you tried the standard re-initialization procedure? Usually, it involves holding the window switch in the 'up' position for a few seconds after the window is fully closed, and then repeating the same in the 'down' position. Does the window motor make any sound when you try to operate the window switch?

I tried that procedure multiple times, but it didn't work. Are there any other methods or specific tools required for a 2007 Seat Alhambra diesel?

Since the standard procedure isn't working, the re-initialization might require diagnostic tools. It's possible the window motor itself is faulty, but the battery change points towards a software issue. I would recommend visiting a workshop with appropriate diagnostic equipment to properly diagnose and re-initialize the window controls.

Took it to the shop. They confirmed the window regulator needed re-initialization after the battery change. Cost me 290€. Thanks for the advice.
