Seat Alhambra rain sensor problem
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Seat Alhambra owner experienced issues with the rain sensor, affecting the automatic wipers, headlights, and speedometer dimming. The error memory indicated a fault with the rain-light sensor. The problem was suspected to be caused by bubbles under the windshield's gel pad. A workshop confirmed this and resolved the issue by replacing the sensor, restoring functionality.

The speedometer dimming is also not working. The error memory shows a rain-light sensor fault. Where is the rain sensor, and how can I check it?

If the speedometer dimming is affected and there's a fault code for the rain-light sensor, it's likely the sensor. The rain sensor is behind the rearview mirror, stuck to the windshield. I wouldn't try to fix it yourself; car electronics can be sensitive. A workshop visit might save you trouble.

Thanks for the help. The workshop confirmed the rain sensor was faulty due to bubbles under the gel pad. They replaced it, and everything works. It cost 62€, not too bad. I appreciate the advice.

I had similar auto lights and wipers issues with my Alhambra. Was the speedometer dimming affected? It might be the rain sensor. Did you check the error memory?
