Seat Alhambra rain sensor problem

I'm having trouble with my 2003 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine, around 110946 km. The rain sensor seems faulty. The automatic wiping mode doesn't work in the rain, and the automatic headlight control is not functioning. The speedometer dimming is gone, and the lights switch on. The error memory shows a fault related to the rain-light sensor. Could this be due to bubbles under the windshield's gel pad?

I had similar auto lights and wipers issues with my Alhambra. Was the speedometer dimming affected? It might be the rain sensor. Did you check the error memory?

If the speedometer dimming is affected and there's a fault code for the rain-light sensor, it's likely the sensor. The rain sensor is behind the rearview mirror, stuck to the windshield. I wouldn't try to fix it yourself; car electronics can be sensitive. A workshop visit might save you trouble.

Thanks for the help. The workshop confirmed the rain sensor was faulty due to bubbles under the gel pad. They replaced it, and everything works. It cost 62€, not too bad. I appreciate the advice.
