Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, I did read the error code, and it pointed directly to the fuel rail pressure sensor signal being faulty. You mentioned you had a similar issue. Did you experience the same engine stalling at idle? And did replacing the sensor completely resolve the problem?

Affirmative. The symptoms you describe mirror the issues I encountered. The engine stalling at idle was particularly troublesome. Once the fuel rail pressure sensor was replaced, the problem was completely resolved. Considering that the error code you retrieved also implicates the pressure sensor, it is highly probable that replacing the sensor will rectify the issue. I would recommend consulting a qualified technician to ensure correct diagnosis and proper installation of the new sensor. It might be necessary to adapt the new sensor to the ECU. It could be a DIY job, but given the precision required for fuel injection systems, the prudent course of action is to seek professional assistance.

You were spot on! It was the fuel rail pressure sensor. Replaced it, and the Alhambra is running smoothly again. Cost me around 240€, but it was worth it to get it sorted. Thanks a bunch for your help!

The symptoms you describe suggest a potential issue with the fuel injection system, specifically related to the fuel rail pressure sensor. The sensor's function is to provide feedback to the engine control unit (ECU) regarding the fuel pressure within the fuel rail. Erroneous signals from this sensor can indeed trigger the check engine light, induce engine stalling (particularly at idle), and diminish overall engine performance. Given your vehicle's mileage, a sensor malfunction is a plausible explanation. I had a similar issue with my Alhambra, and the pressure sensor was indeed the culprit. To be certain, did you perform any diagnostic procedures, like reading the error code?
