Fuse box looks alright at first glance. Where did you find the short circuit in your car and how did you identify the problem with the charging system?

Well, I never found the specific short. After many hours spent on it I ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed that I had a defective battery which was causing all kind of weird issues. Check the voltage of the battery first thing in the morning and while the engine is running. Is it charging properly? If you don't have the equipment maybe it's worth taking it to someone who does.

Thanks for the input. Turns out the battery was indeed knackered and also the cause for the parasitic drain. New battery fitted and the system is charging normally now. 290€ all in.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Alhambra. Have you checked the main fuse box under the hood? Wonder if it's a short circuit somewhere pulling power even when the ignition is off. Is the charging system working correctly?
