Seat Alhambra Windshield Washer Heater Problem

I have a 2002 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine that is experiencing issues with the windshield washer heater. The error memory shows an error, and the spray nozzles freeze at cold temperatures, making winter driving rather hazardous. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered this before?

Interesting issue. I had a similar problem with my Peugeot some time ago, where the windshield wipers would freeze up in the winter. Have you checked the washer heater's fuse?

That's interesting that you had a similar experience. I've only checked the error memory. Where exactly is the fuse located, and is it easy to access?

Yes, in my case with the Peugeot, the fuse was the culprit initially, but the problem returned a short time later. Eventually, it turned out to be a corroded connection to the heating element itself. If you're not comfortable checking the wiring yourself, it might be best to visit a workshop.

Thank you for the helpful advice! I took it to the workshop, and indeed, it was a defective plug connection to the windshield washer heater. They replaced it. The total repair came to 95€. Now I can see clearly again even in the harshest weather!
