Seat Altea check engine light power loss

My 2010 Seat Altea diesel, 97744 km, has a check engine light, reduced engine power, poor engine response, and higher fuel consumption. I think it might be a boost pressure control problem, maybe a bad vacuum switching valve. Has anyone else had this?

I had something similar happen with my Altea. Check engine light, power loss, the works. Have you checked the bypass valve or the pressure sensor? Sometimes turbo lag can also mean the boost controller is acting up.

The pressure sensor seems okay. How did you figure out that the bypass valve or boost controller was the problem? Did you do any specific tests?

I didn't figure it out myself, I took it to a shop. They found the bypass valve problem pretty fast. If the pressure sensor is good, you might want to get a mechanic to look at the valve.

Confirmed fix. The problem was a bad vacuum switching valve, just like I thought. Replaced it, cost 140€. Engine runs great now. Thanks for the input.
