Seat Altea Cruise Control Problem

My 2010 Seat Altea with a diesel engine is giving me grief. The cruise control suddenly stopped working. Now I get an error message in the speedometer, and the system is completely non-functional. The error memory also stores this malfunction. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection, but I'm not sure where to start looking.

I had a similar issue with my Opel Astra a while back. The cruise control stopped working, and an error message appeared. Have you checked the connection to the throttle body? In my case, it was a loose plug.

Interesting. Did the error message mention anything specific? And where was the loose plug you mentioned?

The error message wasn't very descriptive. The plug was related to the steering wheel controls, not directly on the throttle body itself. It would be best to get it checked out by a workshop. They can pinpoint the exact problem.

Took it to the shop. They found a faulty connection in the steering wheel controls, like you thought. 95€ later, cruise control is working again. Thanks for the help.
