Seat Altea Diesel Charge Air Temperature Sensor Issue

I had a similar issue with my Seat Leon. Same engine type. Check the wiring to the temperature gauge as well. Sometimes a loose connection can cause these types of errors. Is the hissing noise constant, or does it change with engine speed?

The hissing changes with acceleration. Where exactly should I check the wiring? Is it near the temperature sensor or the airflow sensor?

Yep, sounds very familiar. For me the whistling was the giveaway. Check the plug connecting to the temperature sensor first, but honestly, I ended up taking it to a workshop. They diagnosed it quickly.

Thanks for the info! It was indeed a defective plug connector. Replaced it and the error is gone. Cost me 95€, which is still better than a new airflow sensor!
