Seat Altea Diesel System Readiness Issue

I am writing to inquire about an issue with my Seat Altea, built in 2010, diesel engine. An error message, 'System readiness check incomplete', is displayed in the speedometer, and an error is stored in the error memory. This occurred after a recent readout via OBD2 diagnostics. Could you offer any advice regarding this matter?

The 'System readiness check incomplete' message often appears after using OBD2 diagnostics. The car needs to complete all its onboard diagnostics after the reset. Check your exhaust system components. Does the error clear after driving for a while? Which diagnostic tool was used?

Thank you for your response. I understand the system needs to complete its checks. Approximately how long or how many kilometers of driving are typically needed for the system to finish the onboard diagnostics? The tool used was a standard handheld OBD2 reader.

Yes, the handheld OBD2 reader likely caused a reset. The drive cycle varies, but usually, after a week of mixed driving, the system should be ready. If the error persists after a reasonable driving period, it is best to consult a workshop. The exhaust system monitoring might not be working correctly. However, it often resolves itself.

I appreciate your insights. The issue was indeed related to the recent OBD readiness check. After some driving, the system completed its checks, and the error message has disappeared. No cost involved.
