Seat Altea electrical issues

I'm experiencing some issues with my 2007 Seat Altea, diesel engine. Sporadically, I get errors while driving and sometimes error lamps light up. Furthermore, various systems are failing, especially audio/navigation. Control units also temporarily shut down or become unresponsive. I found an error stored in the error memory. Any ideas what this could be? "Service required" warning light is also displayed.

I had a similar issue with my Altea. Check engine light and warning signal came on randomly. Have you scanned for OBD-II error codes? It might give a clue.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I scanned for error codes. The error memory showed some faults. Can you elaborate on the error codes you were getting and whether they also pointed to audio/navigation or control unit issues?

My Altea had similar symptoms: random warning light and a temporary shutdown. The error codes pointed to a BUS system issue. I recommend checking the cable connections to the control unit. Might be a defective connection. Eventually, I went to the workshop.

Took the Altea to a workshop. They checked the BUS system cable connections, like suggested. The mechanic confirmed a defective connection to the control unit. Repair cost was 155€. Everything is working fine now. Thanks for the help!
