Seat Altea Emergency Call System Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Seat Altea diesel was experiencing a malfunction with its emergency call system, indicated by an error message, a warning light, and a diagnostic code 'B106429'. The suspected cause was a defective cable or plug. A similar issue was resolved by checking the wiring and resetting the system at a workshop, which confirmed a faulty connection to the emergency call control module. Re-seating the connector and clearing the codes resolved the problem.

Thanks for the quick response. I've checked the error memory and the diagnostic code stored is 'B106429 - Emergency call system control module - Signal implausible'. Does that match what you experienced?

Yes, B106429 sounds familiar. It's likely a loose connection or faulty wiring to the emergency call module. I suggest getting it checked at a workshop; they can diagnose the wiring and possibly reset the system. It might save you a lot of time and prevent further issues.

I took your advice and brought my Altea to the workshop today. Turns out the connection to the emergency call control module was indeed faulty, just as suspected. They re-seated the connector and cleared the diagnostic codes. The error message and warning light are now gone. Total cost was 95€.

I had a similar issue with my Altea. The emergency call system malfunctioned, displaying an error message. Have you checked the diagnostic codes? What codes are being reported?
