Seat Altea engine issues

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically checked the turbo actuator. Where exactly is it located, and what should I be looking for? Is it something I can easily check myself, or is it best left to a professional?

Yeah, those were pretty much the same symptoms I had. The actuator controls the boost from the turbocharger. If it's failing, it can cause all sorts of problems like you're describing. I'd say, if you're not comfortable working on the turbo system, it's best to take it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose the actuator fault and replace the actuator valve if needed. It could also be an electrical bypass valve defective. Good luck!

Just letting you know that the Altea went to a workshop. They confirmed the turbo actuator was defective. They replaced the actuator valve, did some checks, and the car is running great again. It cost me around 250€, but it was worth it to have the power back. Thanks for the help!

That sounds similar to an issue I had with my old Opel Astra. Check engine light, power loss, and a weird whistling noise. For me, it turned out to be a faulty pressure sensor related to the turbocharger. Have you checked the turbo actuator itself for any signs of damage or loose connections?
