Seat Altea rough running and high fuel consumption
Summary of the thread
The 2014 Seat Altea was experiencing poor starting, high fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and uneven idling, sometimes stalling. These issues were suspected to be related to the fuel injection system, particularly a dirty or faulty injection valve. After consulting with others who had similar problems, it was confirmed by a mechanic that a faulty injection nozzle was the cause. Replacing the nozzle resolved the issues, improving vehicle performance and fuel efficiency.

Really? What kind of symptoms did you have? And how did you figure out it was the injection valves? I'm not really sure how to check them myself.

Yeah, pretty much the same. Uneven idling, poor starting, increased fuel consumption. The Engine was hesitating when accelerating too. I didn't check them myself, I just took it to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly. Might be worth getting it checked out professionally. It could also affect the emissions test if it gets worse.

Thanks a lot for your help! It turned out you were spot on. Took it to a mechanic, and it was indeed a faulty injection nozzle. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted. Runs like a dream now, and I'm hoping the fuel consumption will go back to normal. Vehicle performance is noticeably better.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Altea. The Engine was running rough and fuel consumption went up. Have you checked your injection valves?
