Seat Altea wiper problem
Summary of the thread
The 2004 Seat Altea's wipers stopped working, and an error scan indicated an issue with the wiper switch. The problem was suspected to be a bad cable or connector, not the entire steering column, as the turn signal was functioning. A similar past issue suggested checking connections near the steering column. Ultimately, a professional confirmed and fixed a faulty connection in the steering column, resolving the wiper problem.

I did check the fuses, all good there. When you say 'similar issue', was it also the wiper switch itself? And how did you fix it?

Yeah, it ended up being a loose connection near the steering column. I didn't fix it myself, honestly. I took it to a workshop. They said it was a pain to get to. Might be worth having a professional take a look.

Took it to the shop. They confirmed it was a faulty connection in the steering column, like you suspected. 95€ later and my wipers are working perfectly again. Thanks for the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Renault Clio a few years back. The wipers would just stop working randomly. Did you check the fuses? That was the first thing I looked at.
