Faster corners, huh Now that you mention it, yeah, it did seem to happen more when I was navigating roundabouts or taking bends on the highway. So, you're thinking it's definitely the sensor Did you end up replacing the whole control unit And roughly, if you don't mind me asking, what did that set you back

Yep, sounds like the lateral acceleration sensor to me. Mine was doing the exact same thing. Eventually, I caved and took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the sensor, and unfortunately, it meant replacing the whole control unit. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it yourself unless you're really confident. ABS is pretty crucial, and you don't want to risk messing something else up. Best bet is probably a workshop with the right diagnostic tools and experience.

You're a lifesaver I appreciate you sharing your experience. I took it to a trusted workshop, they ran a diagnostic scan and yup, lateral acceleration sensor was kaput. Brand new control unit installed, wheel alignment done, traction control and electronic stability back in action. Cost me about 1000€ all in but at least the ABS light is finally off and the system is working again. Thanks again for the heads up

Whoa, sounds familiar I had almost the exact same thing happen with my Arona. ABS light popping on, ABS system throwing a fit, and a similar error code. Did you happen to notice if it seemed to happen more when you were taking corners a bit faster I'm no expert, but it sounds like it could definitely be the lateral acceleration sensor. Have you checked the yaw rate readings using a diagnostic scan
