Seat Arona AC issues
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Seat Arona with a diesel engine has air conditioning issues where the system doesn't cool or switch on, accompanied by an error and warning light. The workshop suspects a defective air conditioning control unit as the cause. The suggested solution is to replace the control unit, which is confirmed by the shop, aiming to resolve the AC issues permanently.

They mentioned a fault code pointing to the control unit. Is it possible the refrigerant level could trigger that?

In my case, low refrigerant did throw some weird codes, but ultimately it was a failing compressor. If they're sure about the control unit, I'd trust their diagnosis. Air conditioning repair can be tricky. Best to get it sorted properly.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I took it to the shop, and they confirmed it's a defective AC control unit. Unfortunately, the air conditioning repair will cost 980€. I hope this fixes the AC unit issues permanently.

That sounds familiar. I had similar AC compressor problems with my Renault Megane a few years back. Error codes, no cooling, the whole shebang. Did they check the auto refrigerant level before diagnosing the control unit?
