Seat Arona Auxiliary Heater Problem
Summary of the thread
The main issue discussed is a problem with the auxiliary heater in a 2017 Seat Arona, where the parking heater cannot be activated, and an error is stored in the memory. The initial suspicion was a defective glow plug. Another person suggested checking for a coolant leak near the heater core, which was a similar issue they experienced. Ultimately, the problem was diagnosed as a defective glow plug, and the repair was completed at a workshop.

Interesting. I haven't noticed any coolant leaks. Where exactly was the leak located in your Arona's heating system? Was it a major disassembly to access it?

The leak was near the heater core connections. I didn't do the repair myself, but the mechanic mentioned it's a common issue. I suggest having a workshop pressure test the heating system to pinpoint the leak. A defective glow plug is a possibility too, but the coolant leak was the root cause in my case.

Thank you for the confirmation. The workshop diagnosed a defective glow plug in the auxiliary heater. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 440€. Hopefully this resolves the issue permanently.

I have a Seat Arona too. I had a similar issue with the parking heater not activating and an error code popping up. Have you checked for any coolant leak near the heater core? That was the problem in my case.
