Seat Arona boost pressure actuator fault

My 2017 Seat Arona, gasoline engine, exhibits a boost pressure actuator fault. Symptoms include check engine light, reduced power, poor response, whistling, loud hissing, occasional stalling, and higher fuel consumption. Suspect a defective electrical bypass valve.

Boost leaks were checked; nothing obvious. The whistling is quite loud, more like a hiss under acceleration. Could a faulty turbo actuator cause these symptoms even without a clear leak?

Yes, a faulty turbo actuator, especially the electrical bypass valve, can definitely cause those issues without a major boost leak being immediately apparent. The actuator not functioning correctly can cause the turbo to overboost or underboost, leading to the ECU cutting power and throwing codes. I would suggest getting it properly diagnosed at a workshop.
