Seat Arona Diesel Rough Start Issue
Summary of the thread
The Seat Arona diesel model was experiencing rough starts and increased fuel consumption, particularly in cold conditions. An error code related to the PTC heater suggested a potential issue. The problem was identified as a faulty electric auxiliary heater, which is crucial for helping the engine warm up. Replacing the PTC heater resolved the issue, resulting in smoother starts and normal fuel consumption.

The blower motor seems fine. The engine struggles in the first few minutes, especially when it's cold. It eventually warms up, but it takes longer than before. Could the PTC heater really be the cause?

A faulty PTC heater is a common issue on those. It's there to help the engine heat up, especially diesels. If it's not working, it'll cause the problems you describe. I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop; they can confirm the fault and replace it.

The workshop confirmed the PTC heater was the problem. A replacement cost 350€, and the car now runs smoothly from the start. Thanks for the help.

Interesting. Is the blower motor working properly? Does the engine eventually reach operating temperature, or does it take a long time?
