Seat Arona engine running lean

I am experiencing an issue with my 2021 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine. The engine appears to be running too lean. Symptoms include reduced engine power, the check engine light is illuminated, rough engine running, and jerking during acceleration. Based on my research, a likely cause is a defective injection valve or injector. I would appreciate any insights or suggestions.

I had a similar experience with my Arona. Check engine light, rough running, and loss of power. Did you notice any difference in fuel consumption? Have you checked the oxygen sensor?

Thanks for the quick reply. Fuel consumption did seem a little higher than usual. I have not checked the oxygen sensor. Could a faulty oxygen sensor cause the engine to run lean consistently? Is the catalytic converter affected?

A faulty oxygen sensor can definitely trigger a lean running condition, but the symptoms you describe lean towards fuel injectors. Given the mileage and symptoms, it's likely the injectors. If it is running lean for too long, it can damage the catalytic converter. I suggest taking it to a workshop for diagnostics.

I appreciate you sharing your experience. It seems my Seat Arona had the exact same problem. I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed that the fuel injectors were indeed defective. The repair cost came to 515€. It's running smoothly again.
