Seat Arona fuel issue

My 2022 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine is playing up. 134797 km on the clock. It won't start sometimes, stalls at idle, check engine light's on, runs rough, and drinks fuel like there's no tomorrow. Error memory suggests fuel pump failure. Could it be something simple like a bad connection?

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine is experiencing starting issues, stalling at idle, rough running, and excessive fuel consumption, with the check engine light on. The error memory suggests a fuel pump failure, but a simple bad connection is suspected. After investigation, the problem was identified as a faulty connection to the fuel pump, which was resolved, restoring the vehicle's functionality.

Crikey, sounds familiar! I had a similar scare with my Seat Ibiza. Same symptoms, engine cutting out and all. Has your car performance been off lately, or has your fuel consumption increased?

A dodgy connection, you say? Where exactly was the problem?

Yeah, I remember the mechanic mentioning something about the fuel injector cables being a common issue on Seats. Honestly, I'd get it checked properly. Could be more than just a loose wire, and you don't want to risk doing more damage. Automotive diagnosis is key.

Cheers for the advice. Turns out it was a dodgy connection to the fuel pump, like you suspected. 95€ and I'm back on the road.
